I'm certain that, unless too old for the part, she would have been absolutely prefect as Umbridge in Order of the Pheonix. Anyone else agree?

Definitely agreedI think the role was perfectly cast. I loved that movie so much. But i do hope to see Pam Ferris in many more rolesshe is not only great at being a meanie, but in Children Of Men she was quite poignant.

She's a great actress so I'm sure she would have been great as Umbridge. But she was just so good as Aunt Marge. Plus Imelda Staunton really did a wonderful job as Umbridge. I think Pam Ferris would be great in anything though.

I do honestly think that Pam Ferris might of made a good Dolores Jane Umbridge but really I think that her performance would be almost identical to the really monstrous scary character of Miss Trunchbull which has always been in my opinion one of Pam's greatest ever roles and she portrayed her so perfectly that I for a while grew quite scared of Pam Ferris I used to find it hard watching her in other films or television dramas and of course who can forget her in the life and adventures of Nicholas Nickleby where she plays a nasty rude drunken lazy old women called Mrs Squeers I absolutely could not stand her and would of loved it if Nicholas had giving her a real thumping and she had the nerve to call him by Knuckleboy total disrespect how can she not remember his name is it really that difficult she was equally mean and spiteful as Harry's stupid fat ugly old Aunt Marge in Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban I do love seeing Pam in nicer roles as well I mean she was a loving caring decent nice person in Children Of Men and she's quite friendly and down to earth in the Darling Buds of May and her and Felicity Kendall were always a good double act together in Rosemary and Thyme one of my all time favorite TV series I do remember Pam being in a another wonderful TV series called Paradise Heights where she plays a strong minded yet very protective mother anyway we are getting off the subject here so I will say that my favorite choice for the role of Dolores Jane Umbridge would have to be Lindsay Duncan because I have always fondly remembered how really cold evil and selfish she was as Marc Warrens mother in the tremendous Mini TV Series of Oliver Twist she was just ugh a disgusting person and thank god her son killed her once and for all I feel she could of been sensational portraying Dolores Umbridge and to be quite frank Imelda Staunton was nothing really special in fact her overall performance was quite flat and she just didnt seem to suit the character which was probably one of several reasons why Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire was a load of crap but Lindsay Duncan would of been far more perfect and I reckon she could of made the character of Dolores Umbridge out to be really scary intimidating sickly sweet and perhaps overall just plain horrible.
