Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Keeley Hawes

I really, really tried to like this show. The concept is decent, "Identity Theft Department" should give it some legs as far as storylines. There is and are potentially great actors in it. It seemed like the direction was off. I didn't buy Martha falling for Bloom, there just wasn't enough chemistry between them. Keeley Hawes's character could of used a few more outfits, I understand 'the look' of her character, but next time maybe the costume dept. could give her clothes that fit a bit better. Again, I really, tried to like this and am disappointed not to be in love with it.
Anyone else feel a little empty or am I still on my LOM/A2A high that nothing can come close to?

I thought the same, really disappointing. The Bloom character was too obvious and too unlikely and nobody was given enough to do. The plots were daft and it just isn't interesting having a bunch of actors standing around looking at computer screens. I wish they would give Keeley Hawkes some acting to do - she's a good actress but all she got to do here was walk around in a tight skirt and a pair of stilettos, not really how senior police detectives carry on.
I hope it will be speedily forgotten and the actors all get hired to do something good instead.

Keeley Hawes played pretty much the same character she played in ATA, very little range imo. A cold, posh dullard seems to be all she can play.

actually this character reminded me more of Zoe from SpooksA Zoe with absolutely no sense of humor. I don't think there was much of a character to work with. I would love to see Keeley get a role she can have fun with, but also show that she's having fun. A2A had it's moments, where it felt like it was letting us know we were in on the secret.

She can't act "fun", her acting range is very limited.
