Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Jon-Erik Hexum

    carolpink — 15 years ago(February 16, 2011 01:57 PM)

one of the best looking men and one of the best actors of the 80's, it is sad that he passed away too young. I remember Jon-Erik Hexum in shows such as Cover Up and Voyagers, when his character traveled back in time with a boy. ( I wish I could travel back in time I would go back to the 1950's- one of the best era, with the best 50's music, and clothes and cars and Love the way men treated us Ladies).
Jon-Erik would always be a great actor. and remember these shows he did makes me feel young.. I was barely a teenager when I remember seeing him on those shows and I use to have this crush on him, and like him lots because he was one of the most beautiful actors

      carolpink you are soooo right.
He was beautiful, inside and out. I've seen a lot of "faces" on tv and in movies but hisit's truly timeless.

I totally agree. I can't think of a single actor today that could compare with him in looks. I always say that if he'd lived, we'd be saying, "Brad who?" LOL!
He had to become an angel, he was entirely too beautiful to be human. And like puredieselbc said, he was beautiful inside and out.

He may not have been the best actor of the 80s, yet that is. He showed potential, however. Even the critics were taking notice.
So, had he lived, he could have become one of the greats of his generation. Don't count him out, we were robbed of seeing what he could've accomplished, if he'd just been given a chance.

Oh wow, a new expert on Jon-Erik Hexum. Way cool. I'm sorry, I've never heard of you before. Are you someone?
Critics WERE taking notice. I don't know where you get your facts, but Jon-Erik was the one to get rave reviews for The Making of a Male Model, while the critics basically trashed the rest of the movie for being pure cheese.
And critics DID notice how well he acted in his first role ever, Voyagers! Jon-Erik took a lot of acting classes, among other classes to improve himself and make him more of a well rounded actor. And he took them until his death.
He knew he wasn't perfect, not yet anyhow. But he was working on becoming a better actor. You can't fault the guy for trying to improve his body of work. Becoming stagnant was not in his vocabulary.
I never said he was the best actor ever. I said we were robbed of the opportunity to see what he could've done. Tell me, who looked at Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies and saw an Oscar winner? I doubt many knew what type of actor he'd become. Why not Jon-Erik?
And no one asked you to share my opinion. This is America. We're all entilted to our own opinions, even if we don't agree.

Calling me names helps the discussion how? And I was around then too. Sure, not every critic liked everything he did. But not every one of them trashed him like you seem to think they did.
Dude, take a chill pill. You'll have a heart attack. Seriously. This discussion isn't worth it in the grand scheme of things.
