Is it true?

essexb1,
I did go over the top in my last post, and I apologize. However, my point still stands. There is no excuse for someone's racist views, in spite of the fact that they grew up in a racist society. Poeple ought to be accountable at a certain age.
I'm not sure when I issued a "war cry." However, I do believe that black people should "rise up" against white people. They have every right to. And I hardly want black supremacy, as I'm white. I'm not for any kind of supremacy. It would be awesome if we could achieve equality.
Still, the only way for second-class citizens to achieve equality is to "rise up." And when I say "rise up" I mean making their voice heard, hopefully peacefully.

My Uncle worked at Hughes tool in Houston from the late 1940s until he retired in the early 70s, and he worked with blacks at hughes, of course i don't think hughes gave a damn about that company other than it was a stepping stone to finance his many projects (most of his own companies made him much more money than the seed money did from his daddies hughes tool) if he was a racist, he did not apply it to his original company, but like i said maybe he just did not pay that much attention.

"Rise up against" white people? Why not "rise up and join"? Chances are there are far more white people allies in this argument than there are adversaries. Look at Dr Martin Luther King. He lifted the voice of his people without raising "against" anyone or anything but an idea.

Actually, the argument that racism was accepted in his time isn't pathetic. It's a sad sad truth but it IS a truth. He was born in 1905 in Texas when racism was terrible, and sadly broadly accepted by the general public. It's not an excuse it's truth. A sad sad truth. Maybe if he were alive today, and not engulfed in utter insanity, he would take responsibility but I guess we'll never know.
I find it funny that you demand that people takes responsibility for their actions when on every other posts you are being generally hateful and arrogant, especially towards Americans. -

It was common knowledge that Howard Hughes disliked blacks. It's been said that he used every opportunity to refer to blacks as "Darkies" or The "N" word.
I have also heard that John Wayne did not like blacks as well-Pure ignorance! -

The story about John Wayne is not true.
My father had some dealings with him as a cab driver back in the 30's and 40's. He said that Wayne always treated Black people respectfullyhimself include at a time when rudeness toward blacks was still the norm among many. -

He sounds like a really screwed up person. Him being that extremely racist is disgusting, just because he was born back then is no pass to be that way towards Blacks and Jews. Not everyone was a racist back then, I get times were different but racism is racism. He was a piece of sh!t.

Maybe in a 100-200 years most of the humanity (or at least the Western world) will stop eating beef, pork, etc. due to reasons still unknown to us today (maybe they'll find cheaper alternative, or be forced not to eat it, or find it causes deseases, or maybe they'll just find eating livestock gross and appaling). My point is, times may very well turn out to be way different and our generations will be condemned for many things we consider normal nowadays. Btw, do you like dogs? I hear in Vietnam and China they are crazy about dogs
The same way we consider humans superior to all the other species nowadays and like to think that Earth belongs to us, people back then considered blacks inferior race of disgusting filthy primitive beings/animals unworthy of equal rights. And due to seggregation and society norms there wasn't much interacting and whites didn't know much about blacks and it was extremely hard to get to know them and make friends with them, especially when every one around you would ostracize you as a N****r sympathiser. It took a lot of time for things to change.
I bet most of yall americans still dislike and refer to some people as those filthy ragheads, sand-N*****s, etc. in much the same way whites referred to blacks back then.
Btw many white peoples/nations were conquered and enslaved and lived much worse than black slaves, so you can't refer to all white folks as a whole in such negative sense, when in fact only a few western nations (plus jews, arabs, blacks, asians, etc.) traded with slaves (and not just black slaves). -
