If you think you're making progress by hurling back, "you guys are fat, too", then you are sadly mistaken. There are fat uglies of all political stripes. I noticed you didn't address the salient point the OP made, namely, communism != Nazism. Is there a reason for that omission?
Obviously, the more important point is that Obama is neither a communist nor a Nazi. And for that matter, he's neither a Muslim nor foreign born. What's next? Terrist [sic]? Homosexual? Sex offender? Reptilian? You are a sad, sad lot. -

It goes both ways.
As you just read VJ called our president a "Communist" and "Hitler".
Both of these "hurled personal insults" are lies, hyberbolic and contradictory.
AND you threatened to hurl back.
Makes me hurl, actally. -

The two aren't as different as you might think. Hitler believed in many of the same things the Communists did; specifically, both believed in a large, all-powerful central government that exerted massive control over people's daily lives and choices.
And at any rate, Hitler wasn't a true fascist (that was Mussolini's gig), but he would be more accurately described as a socialist- Nazi is an abbreviation for National Socialist Party. And Socialism and Communism are very closely related.
But that's okay, don't think too hard about these things. Just keep insulting everyone who disagrees with you by calling them names like "dumb, fat b!tch." Your liberal "tolerance" for other people's opinions is staggering.

This is one of the best and most clearly written posts I have come across here.
So concise and so clearly and properly written.
I agree.
After hearing all the noise of the last two years, I wish there were a way in which American adults would be given Civics classes so that they realize that they live in a representative Republic with checks and balances of a government broken up into three branches and not a democracy in the sense in which they think. -

Thank you for reminding us all of how comparatively young this country is. It's come a long way really, really fast and the fact that we've all lived through the period of our history in which we have been the dominant force in the world has distorted our image of ourselves.
We definitley quickly lost the lessons which were taught to us in school. -

Communism and Fascism are polar opposites of political beliefs. Communism is far left and Fascism is far right. Just because a movement has "socialist" in its name, doesn't make it less fascist and more leftist. There are movements with the words "socialist and democratic" in their names and they are far from what you would consider democratic.
It's historical fact that the Nazi movement was one of fascism and that they put commuinists to death - they were on the death list as much, if not more so, than gypsies and the mentally retarded. -

That's right. Hitler's main scapegoats were communists and Jews (they were linked together in much of the Nazi propaganda). Their brand of socialism was also very different from any other, and it's pretty ignorant to embrace the 'socialist' part of the Nazi party, all the while ignoring the 'national' part - the nationalist part, which was the main component of its ideology, as well as the fact that the Nazis came into power by opposing traditional socialism, as well as liberalism. There are quite a few reasons why the Nazis are considered far-right, and anyone who suggests strong similarities to communism probably doesn't know much of anything about the Weimar Republic (Germany preceding the Nazis ascent to power).

Hitler actually used the word "socialist" to appeal to German people who wanted change. He did not actually believe in the principles and scaled back on them when he rose to power. He was an evil man, but knew how to use rhetoric that he did not believe in.

'True' communism would have literally no government. It would essentially be organized anarchy.
Fascism and communism are very much diametric opposites, though there are parallels when they're practiced in real life. -

Very accurate. "True" communism (as laid out by Marx and Engels is simply a pipe-dream. It can't possibly be implemented sustained by any lengths of the imagination without some kind of totalitarian regime forming. I feel bad for people who still can't see that The Communist Manifesto contains a failed philosophy. Only in some fictional world (like Star Trek where they have "magic" machines that create things out of thin air) could you get even remotely close to this magical world, where people live and share everything and dance around with gumdrop smiles. Command economy? Sure. Some kind of socialist-mixed-free market economy? Sure.
Even communes (the closest thing to communism) regularly kick out unproductive members who are leaching off the rest of the group. And we're normally talking less than 100 people. If you can't get it to work in that kind of situation, how could it possibly work for thousands, or millions?

I didn't realize that she had become such a freak. She still sounds like an idiot, but back in the 80s it was just her act. Now she says things like how weird it is that liberals are pro-Muslima and pro-gay, but Muslims kill gays.
