I just read about his only child being fathered by Frank Sinatra. Is this true? Also did he know about this? He must have been so upset. I have always thought he was such a good looking man with those blue eyes, tall and great accent. I was just watching him on AMC in a war movie and I thought about him.

He was married to Eva Bartok when she had an affair with Sinatra.

Well, you can read in the trivia
"In 1933, he had a severe car accident. The medics had to cut his spermatic cords, which resulted in a life-long infertility. His only child was, as later revealed by her mother, Eva Bartok, not his own."

It was the only way he could have a child. He was rendered impotent in a traffic accident in the 1930s.

He was infertile, not impotent. After the accident he married five times.
Excuse me for talking while you're interrupting.
