I agree with the OP. I wish people who like her films would stop calling people who disliked (or, in my case, hated her work) morons. Hey, I love independent films, I am attempting to make them myself (being a first year film student) and I generally avoid the stupidity Hollywood shovels out. Her fans seem to think "Oh, he/she didn't like the work, they must be into Michael Bay explosion fests or movies with gratuitious T&A."
Well, I'm not, and I hate her work. She came up with some odd characters, did not bother to write a storyline, and made an overrated movie (Me, You and Everyone We Know). If this movie is supposed to be about real people, then why don't I know any of them?
It's sad that many people will see this and think all independent films are like this.
By the way, I also agree her acting skills are pathetic. Orson Wells wrote himself into the lead of Citizen Kane because he COULD ACT. Woody Allen appeared in many of his own films because HE WAS FUNNY.
But since she is in pre-production on something else, odds are the OP's wish (and mine, as well as many others) will not be granted.
