Why would it matter to people anyway? He's made it this far. Nothing can really stop him in my opinion. People make excuses for him all the time. Don't get me wrong. People make excuses for Hillary as well since she's far from perfect; however, Trump, in my opinion, can do no wrong in the eyes of his supporters, especially the ones who are openly racist. It sucks and sickens me, but it is what it is.
