I just watched Born on the Fourth of July for the first time since it originally came out. I'm a 57 year old female.
Like you, I had the great Midwest upbringing (Indiana). We were so young and innocent and victims of the times. We had no idea what that war would really be like for you and so many others. OUr fathers had served in WWII and we all felt like they were heroesthey had stopped the Fuhrer and Hirohito!
I know this is late in my life to say, but thank you for your sacrifice and what you have stood for since that horrible time. Rather than allowing yourself to be powerless, you have forged ahead in your life and let people know what warall war.is about.
    Thank you and God Bless!
    Terri

Great post Terri, I too am from that era. I feel the same as you coming from Indiana also I was in the middle of all of the protesting in Florida. I hope Ron reads these posts on occasion and I too would like to thank him for his service. Both my father and brother served and am proud of them. Anyone I see today in uniform I thank them for their service. If they are wearing a cap that says Viet Nam, WW2 Iraq, or any others I always say thank you. They need to be thanked but sorely it never happens enough.
