Just saw her in "Drag me to hell" man, even for a mid budget horror movie. I was just astounded that she picked up a lead role, especially since (while she is definitely attractive) she doesn't have generic horror movie babe features.
My question to you is why was she cast? -

Kudos & Touche!
First saw her in White Oleander, she was awesome, nominated in DMTH for MTV awards, and is beautiful to look at as well I love it when an actor actually tries to live a real life, and doesn`t present herself CONSTANTLY! in the media, though she may become prey for some haters -

Yep. I finally got a chance to see this movie after hearing all the raves and I'm totally distracted by her TERRIBLE performance. Even Justin Long was bad, which may be because together, they had ZERO chemistry. I kept thinking she looks like a little girl pretending to be a (young) woman. Not believable in the role at. all. I just saw The Unborn with Odette Yustman and she was much more believable as a young woman in peril, definitely a better actress.
The fact that she doesn't have any recent roles lined up says enough for me.

Sorry folksI know her works, I've seen her in other roles so I'm not judging her (studidly) from just DMTH. Maybe it's because I haven't seen her in any recent roles and she just doesn't stand out as being particularly memorable.
If she's so good, her agent needs to get on the ball and get her some work. Maybe if she comes back in a couple of years I'll take her seriously as a good actor ; ) Oh, yeah. Do the Scarlett Johanssen thing and go slutty, or change the color of her hair

Well, there goes
your
credibility…
There are 8.2 billion people in the world. 8.19 billion of them have never heard of and don't give a fuck about Charlie Kirk. Get over it. -

- What does the budget of the movie have to do with anything?
- What's good about "generic"?
- What do her features have to do with how good an actress she is?
- The IMDB page for the movie lists the casting department. Shouldn't you be asking them why she was cast? I doubt any of us here have any inside information about their decisions, but I suspect that a lot of it has to do with that
- She looks younger than her age, and that kind of innocent appearance goes a long way in a movie where an audience has to sympathize with a character who's made a very questionable moral decision.
- I thought she carried the role very well, especially considering the amount of stuntwork she had to do. That's a demanding role, and a lot of actresses won't take a part like that, as it means that they won't be looking pretty all the time. She threw herself into it with a lot of gusto, and I don't think there are many other actresses who would have pulled that role off so well.
- Troll.

Great actors/actresses shouldn't need to prove themselves more than once. Think Robert DeNiro, impeccable in almost all of his early work, and most of films in the middle of his career (ill admit that he sucked massivley in Meet the children). This was her biggest film and she failed to perform so why would I bother with her other movies
