Multiple reports cite suicice, I have heard by overdose and gunshot. I assume a offical report has not been released to the public. Both counts say that her brother also committed suicide either with her by overdose, or over the next few days, passively by refusing to take his aids medication. However it happened it is sad. She was a beautiful woman who was beset by tragedy. RIP

I have a 1999 give-away calander that I kept for years because Lorissa was March and thought I'd check this page and see if she was doing anything new. What a way to find out. There was no mention of this in any paper or magazine.
When Bettie Page died a year ago it was in all the newspapers and the national news. Lorissa was pretty close to being a Bettie Page and was really the last notable American pinup. The lack of public announcement was unreal.
My condolence to the remainder of her family. -

found out some details:
her mom died of cancer, her died committed suicide over her mom's death and she apparantly discovered the body, she started to develop a disease that affected her legs thus her modeling, and she was being extorted by a friend for money who reported her a bad parent to social services and she lost her child to protective custody
there are reports that she committed suicide from depression of these evenst over the past few years
so sad and tragic -

& though it was a pretty WEAK slasher film, she was a scene stealer for sure! Heart breaking to read she has now passed awayshe was gorgoeus.

I just heard about this today and am so saddend by it. She was beautiful and was the best things about anything she was in and I had wondered what she was doing when I looked her up her. So sad. She will be so missed.

Like many, I came here to see what she was up to and I nearly spat my drink all over my monitor in shock and disbelief.
In my research, I learned that she died most likely of a heart attack (own speculation) caused by a muscular disease called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. It is not a fatal disease, however it affects the hands and feet and can cause extreme pain which can cause heart attacks, even drive some to suicide.

I was wondering what happened to her and a simple google search revealed she died a year ago. What a gut punch. And to hear how she died.really, really sad. Very sorry to hear of her illness and eventual suicide and wish it were not so.
