It isn't as if Parker Posey is some obscure actress - she was in "Superman Returns". I know they'll never be mistaken for one another in person but, in print, it just sounds confusing.

She has been named Parker Posey from birth and her name has nothing to do with the other Parker Posey.
She was named Parker after her fathers aunt, McKenna because her mother liked the name, and her fathers surname is Posey. -

No, she doesn't use Mc1354Kenna in her stage name "to avoid confusion". It's because the Screen Actors Guild would not allow the use of Parker Posey, since there is already an actress with that name.
BTW, there are several well known cases of actors NOT using their real name because it was already taken. For example, Michael Keaton's real name is Michael Douglas. Albert Brooks' real name is Albert Einstein!
I don't have anything against "McKenna"'s work or her personally, but her management should have varied her name more when she started working. It's really inexcuseable that they billed her as Parker McKenna Posey when the original Parker Posey was gaining such fame when "Parker McKenna" broke in.
