She's gorgeous…but honestly why does she have a career?

Yeah, "Beyond the Pines" is a breakout role and star making performance for Mendes. Its hard for women to get "good roles in hollywood" that are not just 5 minute girlfriend roles. Especially minority women in hollywood. But Romina is a great role that is perfect for Mendes and she knocks it out of the b68park. I would not be surprised if she got an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress. There could and should have been more scenes with her and Dane.

Is there any truth to the rumours that she wants to compete for the same roles Jessica Chastain goes for? Eva is gorgeous but I can't picture her as Strindberg level actor. Can she inspire her male co-stars to be better actors than they actually are? Like Brad Pitt before him, Colin Farrell has never given a better performance.
And she would need to take herself far less seriously: -

Shes a decent actress no meryl streep or anything she is just eye candy always has been.
Why does everyone say Meryl Streep is a great actress? She's a good actress but saying she's the greatest is so overdone, and frankly, just a chant from her acting in the late 90s(where her fake Italian accent was.. well, fake. I am Italian, please believe this), early millenia. Goldy Hawn can keep time with Streep, and did so in Death Becomes Her - a film where Bruce Willis out performed them both. Kathy Bates can go to the edgealways could. And she can act circles around Streep. Cate Blanchett is far better as well.
Yes, Mendes is sexy, but not beautiful. She's also ethnic and likely loses roles because of it. I adore her. She's polite and fun during interviews seems very genuine.
