What do fans think of this album? Its rated as one of her worst ones by allmusic. I havent listened to it so Im unsure about it.

Definitely not one of her worst. It's not like I'm playing it all the time, but it's a very good record and one that was very much ahead of it's time. Joni was one of the first to record an album of world music! I like it a lot. But don't listen to it out of the blue (no pun intended), try The Hissing of Summer Lawns and Hejira first. In that order.

thnx for the reply and I have hissing and Hejira but havent listened to them yet. was unsure about getting the don juan album but ill give it a shot-its joni still so how bad can it be?

Well, I'm a Joni fan, but some of her records are really bad!
Wild Things Run Fast? Half of Chalk Mark? And I'm not a fan of Mingus either

Oh my! well guess every album cant be a winner-sort of like bjork who i think is amazing but her last couple of albums have been too out there so I totally understand that Joni can be like that.
