Hmm, I'm not sure I see her that differently. She probably sensed someone was hovering around with a camcorder that would p!ss me off too! I know they weren't initially filming her but the fact that she was there and then they decided to film would annoy me too.
She may have also been busy too; it happens. I saw Rachel Shelly (Helena) in London once and I didn't wanna bother her but then I walked up to her to ask if it was her etc. She was with her kids and maybe a friend or sister I kept it brief. But I didn't have a camcorder! She was really nice too but I didn't ask for a photo or anything thoughI kinda feel for famous people in that way and I just leave them be!

i didn't get the same impression. i think it may have been different if the girl had approached her and then asked for a photo or something. but it might creep me out a bit to have1c84 someone approach me and then turn around to see a video camera already rolling. like, have they been following me? are they trying to bait me into saying/doing something so they can trash me/ridicule me on their little film later on? does no one else think it's weird to just roll up on someone with a video camera before you've even said hello?
i'm just saying, that might make me less inclined to start up a conversation is all

You people are insane whack-jobs, for real. I thought this video must be REALLY awful, and she must be like "GET AWAY FROM ME I'M A PERSON" or something crazy and over the top but now I've watched it and am shocked to find that she is completely polite and normal. Holy crap. And you're calling the fans "crazy and obsessive." A "crazy and obsessive fan" is someone who thinks these people owe them something, like pictures and autographs, and that's what YOU hypocrites are doing.
Firstly, just because you're an actor does not mean you're extroverted and enjoy being recognized and accosted in public. And further, not enjoying constant accosting does not mean you're smug or full of yourself or "don't appreciate" your fans. It just means you're busy or you're not into it because you, I dunno, are LIVING YOUR LIFE.
Secondly, you there with your she-owes-her-fans-15-seconds, holy crap! What if she gets recognized on EVERY block by several people? Does she owe each of them 15 seconds? Where does it stop, when she's taken 5 hours to get to someplace 15 minutes away, THEN will she have appreciated her fans enough for your taste? You self-centered tool.
I don't even know who this chick is (just saw her randomly in a movie yesterday), but after seeing this video I really like her. I prefer people who are reserved and private rather than insanely extroverted people (Paris Hilton) who get off on having their photo taken every two seconds (Jessica Simpson). If you want someone who's going to constantly fake-smile at you and give you autographs and pictures, go chase them. But no, you people fancy yourselves unique and like the off-beat characters that Moennig plays, and then you're like "Oh wait oh noez in real life she's not an extroverted starlet like everyone else and she IS off-beat, now I hate her!" What the hell is wrong with you freaks?
"Sheep and obsessed." Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. It's very sheep-like to assume everyone famous owes you something, idiot.

Whether they find life there or not, I think Jupiter should be considered an enemy planet.

She is a TV actress, it is not like she is Scarlett Johanson or Angelina Jolie. I doubt she gets mobbed if she can hang out at a news stand with her Jackie O sun glasses on.

Personally I don't think Kate was rude AT ALL. She did it with a smile on her face. Just because someone is a celebrity that doesn't mean that they are public property and have to pose for EVERY GODDAMN PICTURE that they are asked too.
Put your feet in her shoes. She was out, relaxing, doing her own thing, then some ditzy fangirl hovers around her gushing like some defective fountain.
I think she declined with grace. As was and IS her right to do.

She was pretty rude, it's not that hard to take a pic I doubt she'd get approached all the time like some celebs. Lol at the poor girl "but I watch The L Word?!" Lol Kate would hate me I would want to debate the relationship of Shenny with her HAHA she'd be likeeff off.

I've never understood the whole fandom phenomenon with the autographs and pictures and all that rigamarole. Now, this may in part come down to cultural upbringing (I'm from Sweden, and here we - by way of example - seldom even acknowledge our neighbours other than possibly with a hasty nod if we're unlucky enough to happen to make eye contact), but even if I were to get stuck in the same elevator alone with someone famous whose work I admire, I'd flatly refuse to engage in any conversation unless it is initiated by the other party. It's not that I'm shy, but more a question of putting myself in the other person's shoes, and, to be totally honest, I'm way too stubborn to show anyone that I'm the slightest bit impressed by them.

                          1. Kate is notoriously painfully shy around strangers.
                          2. These rude a$ $holes in the video stood mere feet behind her and cackled and whispered in a thoroughly indiscreet fashion 'that's her! that's her!' and were snickering to themselves like idiots and filming her long before actually approaching her (much less asking her permission if they could film her) - granted, it's a public place, but Kate doesn't consider herself a famous person. She considers herself a regular person, just like anyone else. How the hell would you react if a bunch of people stood just behind you and were laughing and filming you? I'd imagine that would make you feel pretty damn uncomfortable.
                          3. When Kate politely declined to sign an autograph, one of the idiots persisted saying 'but I watch the L Word!' as if watching a stupid show on tv entitles her to have Kate's attention or regard. Sorry, but no. She's not entitled to that.
                          4. Rude "fans" suck. Kate did nothing wrong. Stop hating on her just because she doesn't give obnoxious fans what they want. I like the fact that she asserts her space and her privacy when she wants to - she has every right to both things, despite the opinions of some selfish fans around here.

                            that's what you do
                            !"

I'm not hating on her, I just felt sorry for the girl. Yeah the guy who was filming was annoying and loud, when the girl said 'but I watch the L Word' I think she said it more because she was surprised at being turned back, that's how it came across to me. I would be a little upset if I approached an actor I really liked and asked for a photograph and then got knocked back, I probably wouldn't ask in the first place but I still felt bad for her.

Just saw the video and I don't see what the $h!t disturbers are going on about her reaction was normal and in any case very mild. I'd say walking around with a video camera asking to take a picture of her might have struck her as odd!

Really? That's it? That's what you're all up in arms about? She politely declines the girl by saying her hands are full and then the girl acts like she's entitled to something by saying "But I watch the L Word." she brushes her of with a tone that assures her she appreciates her support but she's not getting anything today. I'm sure she didn't realise it but that girl was being pushy by not having enough grace or courtesy to be respectful and leave KM well enough alone while she's trying to buy a few magazines.
Here's the thing a lot of people need to keep in mind before they go crying about how mean celebrities are to them. They aren't entitled to a damned thing when they find a celeb out on the street. That's their time. If you meet them at a premire, an event of some kind or a signing then have at it otherwise you're running the risk of being seen as a pest.
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

Just to add to what everyone else said, the guy taking the video was shouting about meeting famous people. I'd be pretty annoyed if people with a camera came up to me screaming about something like that.

I just wanna say that even if she was being that way in a video, like every fan will say, you do not know her personally.. A lot of things could have been happening that day.. You dont know, you wasnt there and inside her head.. also.. even if she is that kind of person in real life are you seriously gonna start hating her character on the show? She is an awesome actress! I wouldnt let her real life judge and change what I know her as from her acting..

I agree with SJODay12. I mean none of us know her personally. And also she could've been having the beep day. Everything could have been going wrong. and for all we know five seconds before that video starts a ton of people could have bombarded her with annoying pleas for pictures and autographs. She could've stood there on the beep day of her life dealing with annoying fans one by one and just been down right feed up with everything in the world. She's a great actress. That's all that matters. She does her job. I doubt you see a veterinarian and beg them for pictures and autographs. So why do that to other people just doing their job?

OK, I won't claim that she is a very decent human being (though I am pretty sure she is) since I don't know her but in that video she was POLITE. She POLITELY declined with a POLITE excuse. Those guys were not POLITE. It looks like the whole filming ( with all those stupid remarks Oh, dogies, I love dogies) was staged, like they already knew she was at that magazine shop board. They were giggling, they were loud, they had a camera, they were filming and girl approached. Nothing polite about it. I feel really sorry for the girl but that video, by all means, does not make Kate untouchable, rude bitch.
