Why is her career just now taking off so late, she's in her 40s now?

She's over 40 and her career is just now taking off (hopefully)? She's been acting like since 1991 when she played Eddie Winslow's girlfriend on like two eps of "Family Matters" and on "The Jacksons" in 1992 played a groupie of Jermaine Jackson. Then recently on "The Game" playing Malik's trainer and love interest. She's kind of too old to be playing this part on "Born again Virgin", she's about 10 years behind. Her career should've been taking off 10 years ago while she was still in her 30's. She still looks like she's in her 30's, but she should be deeper into a starring career by now.
