Christie is not nencessarily a Black woman she's a mix-race character so when it comes to casting an actor I figure they'll loose themselves on this one and not feel so restricted when it comes to an actor's race they can cast either way as long as she's hot, atheletic, and most importantly, can act then I don't give a damn about the actor's race.

This is just my opinion, I think if they really wants Kelly Overton in the movie she would better be play as Julia Chang than Christie Monteiro. I'm not saying she's fit 100% to be Julia but it's better than Christie judging from her looks & hair a bit. However, since Julia has a surname "Chab68ng" maybe she's also an chinese descent, that is confusing imo.

Christie Monteiro is Brazilian. It's quite obvious she has a darker shade of skin than Kelly Overton.

If you read the bio on her father here:

she may even be half Korean
Anyways Kelly was crazy hot so it distracted me so much I didn't even care anymore. -

Well, she looked like Christie. And she looked incredibly hot in certain scenes.
There is this one scene you could see the top of her butt while wearing black leather pants.
It did bother me though that she didn't do capoeira. They changed her bio and made her bond with Jin,which doesn't make any sense. -

Why is it always the same posts on these?
I can't believe there seems to be more complaints on this low budget niche movie than the Transformers travesty.
Alba isn't blonde, how can she be in Fantastic Four? Berry isn't white how can she be Catwoman? While funnily enough Kristen Kruek (even though she's mixed) looked more asian than Chun li in the actual game.
Most of the actors in a film don't have the same background as the characters they're based on, because, you know what? They're actors.. (John Foo ain't Japanese either).
It's a video game character. And Christie, even though is meant to be Brazillian, was designed by Japanese who already took some liberties to make her look as broadly ethnically diverse as possible.
Kelly actually looks pretty close to the game character.
That's enough for me, who cares where she's from?
If people are going to be upset with the details every time they watch these well written, high brow, high budget (Read my sarcasm here) VG to film ada111cptations, I suggest you just stick to the in-game cut scenes..
One final question to leave you on since everyone's seems to be so worried about the authenticity of people playing roles.
In the whole of the Tekken series, which has plenty of ethnic characters -
Why do none (and I mean none) of them actually have wide/ high noses?
Did they all get plastic surgery?
