One of my favorite current directors.
Of the films of his that I've seen

1. Sideways (mature, funny, heart-breaking, true)
2. Election (hilarious, flawed characters)
3. Nebraska (poignant, heartfelt, character-driven; in B&W!)
4. The Descendants (diverse, honest characters; as usual, painful/funny situations)

   .
   Last. About Schmidt (actually didn't like it; perhaps worth a re-watch; was burned out on Nickelson when I saw it)
   Looking forward to his next!
