If only HOUSE didn't have him commit suicide…

Then it could have paved the way for him to come back in guest spots or what-have-you. Now he's quitting the White House and there's no chance for him to come back to the other House unless as another hallucination or dream sequence.
So annoying. I loved Kal Penn best in House and The Namesake. My fantasy (besides another kind entirely with Kal Penn!) was to see him replace Foreman in House and see more Kal Penn and less Foreman. -

They should not have killed him off. They should have just shipped him off to a rehab and then leave the show. Killing him was such a slap in the face to the viewers. Lazy writers

I completely agree.
And witness Protection doesn't work as Foreman ab68nd Thirteen found him with his brains blown out.
I think he should have met a stripper (patient) and fell in love and followed her to Vegas. A much more entertaining and interesting exit and plenty of opportunity to come back! -

It wouldn't be any more plausible if he had just left off camerain fact that would've been horrible. There's no good explanation that would not require his appearance in the series ever again. Death was the only route.

It wasn't lazy or stupid. You don't kill off a character that you want back some day. Some people break up with others in harsh ways so they know they will never be tempted to get back together with them. Writers do this as well. Whatever their reason, they did not want him to ever come back. He shouldn't have quit in the first place for some empty suit racial outreach job when you are on the best medical drama ever. Most employers don't welcome you back when you quit in the middle of a jobin this case, a season.

Well given he's back to acting, I hope they can somehow bring Kutner back from the dead. Hell, Sarah Wayne Callies came back on Prison Break, so why not Kal Penn's character?
Bar House, he was the most interesting character on the show and I hope he considers coming back. -

Been watching on DVD, it is a bit strange that they went the suicide route, it's possibly less plausible than having him leave off-camera. There should be some sort of rule that if an actor leaves a show they have to film one last episode to have their character properly written out, it just ruins the credibility of the show otherwise.

"Easy with the spoilers. I'm halfway through the series."
But the majority of people are at the end of Season 6 by now, so tough. Once it has aired it's fair game. Them's the rules. You still want to take the risk that you'll see a spoiler? Fine. Just don't whinge when you do.
Personally I'm only on the back few episodes of Season 5, just a couple of eps after Kutner killed himself. As such I am more than aware that the risk I take on going on these boards is that the Season 5 finale, or even ALL the events of Season 6 will be spoiled for me. Cause of this I've avoided the actual 'House' boards altogether and thought twice about coming on this board.

i dunno. it wasn't actually a huge spoiler as it was all over the news, and every article about Kal Penn mentions he was written off with suicide. everyone knows he left House, and the suicide thing is introduced like the first 2 minutes of the episode so its no big shocking thing. plus that episode sucks really

who follows kal penn news? i dont think this should be assumed of someone who happens to click on his imdb board.
"the suicide thing is introduced like the first 2 minutes of the episode so its no big shocking thing"
that might make it okay, though -

sorry bro I just figured because if u were on his imdb message board u might have read about it before.
but ya don't worry it doesn't ruin thhe episode, and the episode sucked anyway. That whole section of the show isn't all that great. I was a die hard house fan from the first season and I just hated that section of the show. The suicide was so retarded really
sorry tho u r right, sorry that u ran into a spoiler!! it always pisses me off when that happens rrrr
