Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Joe Piscopo

Was just thinking about Piscopo for some reason and i distinctly remember when he stopped being funny to me and it was around the time he started bodybuilding. He doesn't pull off the muscled up funny guy like Terry Crews

Hurricane, in the voice of Ahnold, "Dat's a good one!"

I think you bring up a valid point. Supposedly, he started using steroids around that time and was even contemplating being a wrestler? The steroids could have affected his emotional demeanor and the bulked up look would not have helped him get comedic parts. It certainly wouldn't have helped him.

That could be a good poinb68t. I also seem to remember that the years he was there was kind of a "rebuilding" era, and I think they let go a lot of people, who didn't have enough fame to carry on into movies or other television shows. (I could be wrong, I'm just vaguely remembering this stuff.) I saw him on TV a couple days ago, on Fox News, and he seemed to be in good shape and good spirits. He is the host of a morning radio show in NY now, evidently.
