I heard from someone in the business that his multi multi millionaire daddy tells him to release his films around globes time, and then he buys him an award and suddenly his flop becomes a huge success. It makes sense, this is his third film in a row to win an award - an5b4d they may have been OK films, but they were not amazing films.
And yes, you can buy a Golden Globe. That has been known for years.

He is a much better filmmaker than his Dad. What has his Dad done? Ghostbusters? Kindergarden Cop? My Super- Ex Girlfriend? MEATBALLS? Get real one of the few cases where the son is better than the Dadface it.

You must be one of this dude's friends. Nobody else on planet earth thinks Juno is better than Ghostbusters or Stripes.

Uhh.. no. Since you want to talk about awards though Jason Reitman: 4 oscar nomination, 2 BAFTA nomination, 2 golden globes.
Ivan Reitman: 1 oscar nomination, 1 BAFTA.
I personally think Ghostbusters sucked along with Stripes and the academy, BAFTA and golden globes agree with me.
Ivan Reitman: 0 writing credits. 1 oscar nomination for a production credit.
Jason Reitman: 2 writing credits, 1 oscar nomination from it. 2 directing oscars.
The ONLY oscar that Ivan HAS ANY CREDIT FOR, his SON helped HIM get. Gets your facts straight before you start saying some ridiculously stupid beep Ok, cupcake?

Ivan's last (and, arguably, least successful) four features grossed more than Jason's last (and only) four. And that's not adjucting for inflation. If we do that, Ivan's top four grossed more than $1 billion more than sonny's. Furthermore, he produced Jason's most critically successful picture and gave him a headstart in movies by granting him token parts in several of his films. Go figure, cupcake.
              Oh whisky, leave me alone.

I don't give a s**t who his father is. This man does amazing work for someone this young. Definitely one of the best of his generation. Up in the air, Thank you for smoking, Juno.

By the way PLEASE oh PLEASE show me any source that shows the ability to buy your own golden globe. Are you jealous or something?
Thank You For Smoking: grossed 24mill+ how is that a HUGE success? Where is the award?
Juno: 143+ millyeah thats a success, but where is the golden globe that his daddy bought him?
Up in the air: 163+ millanother huge success, but again.. where is the "award his daddy bought him"?
Have you failed to realize that, as talented as this guy is, he has failed to win ANY awards please make your opinion before you go on IMDB and posting something that you heard PLEASE.

You can buy a nomination for a golden globe most definitely. There is only one body who decides which films win.
His films were hits only after they were nominated - I can't give you my source because I promised not to - but the source which is reputable says his dad paid for golden globes for his last three films although he never bought one for himself.

                        From IMDB:
Altman said that "Cuckoo's Nest" had had an inside advantage as it had won the 'California primary' (the Golden Globes). At the time, the Golden Globes, though a joke in terms of their integrity, were still a potent predictor of eventual Oscar success
