He is not a staunch conservative Republican!

I like what Joan Rivers said when they threw paint on her old fur coat "you idiot, you're not saving this animal, he's already dead!" And there have been cases where PETA demonstrators have been caught wearing leather, which I guess they are too stupid to know is also made from animals.

Who gives a beep Why do people always feel the need to point out actor's political stance? He's publicly stated that he's very conservative on a number of occasions. Why not just leave it at that?

Because it isn't true. And we only point out the actor's politics when they themselves have pointed it out. But this entire began because IMDB said that he is a staunch conservative Republican when he really is not.

He may be registered as a Republican, idk. But IMDB has him listed as a Staunch Conservative Republican, and he is not conservative. His views on gay marriage, PETA, climate change and other issues are liberal, not conservative.

If you're using PETA as an argument that BO Duke is not an extremist. You used the wrong organization. I question anyone who supports an organization that purposely uses shock and questionably moral advertising to push their cause. All it does is turn people off to their message. In 2008, a man on a bus in Canada was killed, beheaded, and partially eaten by a highly mentally disturbed man. The story was tragicbut not to PETA.
PETA then tried to run an ad in the Portage Daily Graphic in Manitoba to make people rethink the proposition that it is, rightly so, a criminal act to kill and eat our own kind but that its OK to kill every other species but our own and eat them. Yes, thats what they wrote. The paper rejected the ad.
So if ole BO Duke is a member of this disgusting organization, then it's just more fuel for the flames of dislike of his character. -

Also speaking as a gay man, I could care less if he supports, or is against, gay marriage. He's a D list actor, and ranks with the likes of Kurt Cameron. His opinion doesn't matter, and I highly doubt you will find one gay person who would be upset to find out that Ole BO doesn't support gay marriage. I don't understand people. There is nothing wrong with practicing your religion, but I'll never understand why they become such jerks in the process. Kurt Cameron, Stephen Baldwin, John Schneider, have all had personality changes since their calling from Christ. It's like being given a free ticket to be a jerk. I'm so glad I'm a non believerI live my life and not the lives of others, unlike the above listed do, and look how stressed out they get

It's KIRK Cameron. They DO have the right to their beliefs and opinions. If you REALLY didn't care; then why come here and gripe about it? Get on with YOUR life because you can't control the beliefs of others. And you have atheist and agnostics who are bigoted as well.

Yet you took the time to post on his IMDB pageLOL Jesse James.
Who cares what his political views are, he is entitled to them.
I'm neither Republican or Democrat, I have to say I find it amusing that people who claim to be so liberal are so intolerant of other's views. You're not better than those are the extreme right, you both lack tolerance. -

And he is free, under the First Amendment, to think whatever he wants. My comment was only referring to the IMDB comment that he is a STAUNCH Conservative Republican. His views on PETA, gay marriage & climate change and a couple of other issues are hardly STAUNCHLY conservative.

TVmoviefan49, I have found "staunch conservative republican" to be a misnomer as well (or perhaps his views have evolved over the years)and I am absolutely relieved and overjoyed about it. Folks are entitled to their beliefs, but I like to support artists/celebs that I feel have a heart for the people. I thought he was down to earth when I met him last yearand even that pales in comparison to how proud I am of his public stance against discrimination faced by the LGBTQ community. You can check out his blog posts about it here:

The discrimination is against Christians, not LGBT. It is Christians who are being forced to accept and cater to a lifestyle choice that they do not approve of. LGBTs are free to have their marriages, but should not be able to sacrifice religious freedoms of others to do so. If someone doesn't want to bake your wedding cake, just go to another baker who will. There is no call to drive decent people out of business just because they disagree with you. You want to be shown tolerance by others but do want to show it to others.

Oh, you have really misunderstood. I don't care about your viewpoints on LGBTQ discrimination, religion, or free speech. In line with the original post about John being a "staunch conservative republican", I provided info regarding that. You can argue with someone else about whatever else you like.

Is this really that important to some people? Would someone stop liking an actor or actress based on their political views? We are free to believe how we want and I have always felt political views are a personal choice and everyone should respect that. One reason I don't like talking about politics is because some people seem to have such cold hate for someone based on their political choice. We are free in America to suppose either party or not. I just find it sad someone would dislike an actor based on his personal choice.
I admit with elections coming up I've seen some actors express who they support and I've been a little surprised but I still will watch their movies or enjoy their music. -

If an actor or actress keeps their views to themselves, then it is a personal choice. But when they make a point of publicly airing those views in an attempt to persuade others to their views, then it is no longer a personal choice. They themselves have then made it a very public choice which can be criticized. John has made it his business to do just that, speak out on some of these issues in order to influence others.
