Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Anna Silk

The CBC has a new series "being Erica". The show has some clever aspects. The preview for the upcoming episode, to be broadcast this Wednesday March 4, 2009, shows Anna Silk playing "an old flame".
Each episode of "Being Erica" has the main character re-experience a different incident from her past that troubled her. The CBC has experimented with some shows that buck the conventions of America5b4n television dramas and sitcoms. I'd regard North of Sixty, Da Vinci's Inquest and This is paradise as other examples.
Anyhow, one of the previews shows Erica backing into a pile of champagne glasses, which smash to the floor. The next shot is a close-up of Silk's character, at the cash register, purring, "The last time I spent this much on crystal, she threw in a lap dance" and then giving a sexy and frankly domineering wink.
    Anyhow, I thought I would give Ms Silk's fans a heads-up.

That really was a great episode. That particular scene gave me chills.

Of course, being in the Sheeples' Demokratik Republik of Amerika, getting Canadian channels is well nigh impossible. Likewise, all weather broadcasting by the American Kiddie Media virtually ignores Canada and Mexico guess there's no weather there

But our below the radar existence helps us in disaster movies, Canada is hardly ever mentioned as being wiped out or even harmed in these kinds of movies smug Canadian grin All the states are plunged into an ice age but we continue to be safe and warm because nothing exists up north to be destroyed.

You had me in agreement until the weather thing Seriously?
              THAT'S
your biggest gripe against American media?!?! The weather buffoons inaccurately parrot to us what they think we consider relevant. I live in Texas, they may think I'm not too concerned with the weather in Canada. Hard pressed to care about it in Oklahoma and they are right next to us. (Unless I have to travel to any of those places)
It is later than you think
