Just replying in sequence here. RIP Mel. Not the 9 O'Clock news was revolutionary in its day and gives me many good memories of my 6th form days. Sixty is a little early to pass, hope you are making eveyone laugh on your arrival up with the Man.

RIP. Guy had an influence on every generation, and he will be immortalised in many of his shows, not least of which is the introduction to The Snowman, 'Another Bloomin Christmas', while US audiences know him as The Albino in The Princess Bride.
Darn sad to see him pass, but according to his agent, he was not in good health, at least, not in recent years. So it will be somewhat of a relief to him to no longer suffer. -

Was only watching my NTNOCN DVD's last night, very sad to hear of his passing. Rest in Peace, Mr. Smith I'll always remember you as the voice of Father 'bloomin' Christmas, too. Sad news!
Ew! I'm sweating like Roger Ebert! -
