Inappropriate relationship with Linda Blair?

I was just reading his wikipedia page and saw that he lived with Linda Blair when he was 25 and she was 15. Was that even legal then? I understand that Linda's parents were probably ok with it but still, would the state allow it? It's pretty clear they were in a sexual relationship and I assume that California had laws about statutory rape even in the 70s. It's just a little disturbing to me. I feel like today this would never be allowed to happen. I can't imagine a world where people wb68ould be cool with Elijah Wood shacking up with Dakota Fanning.

I remember when they were together and I don't think anyone ever made a big deal about it. And it's weird because there's no way people would condone that now days and yet the world is much more jaded and morals much freer now than they were 37 years ago. I think I would be shocked to hear about something like that now and he would probably be accused of being a sex offender but back then all I thought was lucky Linda!
