In which of her films can you hear her real voice? I read that she was dubbed for The Pit and the Pendulum, and I am inclined to believe she was dubbed in all her Italian films. Does anyone know?

From what I have, you can hear her real voice in Cronenberg's Shivers/They Came From Within. I have Danza Macabra but I'm not too sure if she was dubbed in that but you never know.

SYNAPSE FILMS has just released NIGHTMARE CASTLE on BLURAY which is the only one of Barbara Steele's Italian horror films to have her own voice in English on the soundtrack. Also Ms. Steele does an audio commentary on the film on this BLURAY disc which also contains Steele's other Italian horror films, CASTLE OF BLOOD & TERROR CREATURES FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE in High Definition.

No - the voice in "Nightmare Castle" is American, it's not Barbara's British accented-voice. Plus, you can tell by the lip movement she's dubbed in this one, too.
