Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Jenna Stern

    ttquick15 — 20 years ago(March 28, 2006 06:30 AM)

I babysat both Jenna and her brother Nicolas when they had a summer home in Monmouth Beach, NJ in 1973 and were living with their father Tom at the time. Monmouth Beach is on the north part of the Jersey Shore next to Long Branch. Tom Stern took Nicolas and I to see the Bruce Lee movie "Enter the Dragon" that summer. Jenna was only 5 at the time. Still have a picture of Nicolas and I together, just wish I had one of Jenna and I from that time period.

I don't think Jenna would remember me because she was to young. Nicolas may remember, especially if I was able to show him the picture of us together. It would definitely make for an interesting scenario and something that I would like to do someday.

Do the math again, Liz. According to the IMDB bio, Jenna was born in Sep., 1967. Enter The Dragon premiered in Aug., 1973, according to IMDB. That would make Jenna one month short of her 6th birthday when ETD was shown. That doesn't necessarily make ttquick15's story valid, but it also can't be invalidated by your faulty math.

They had a SUMMER house in Monmouth Beach from June to August in 1973. Jenna was 5 at the time. She didn't turn 6 until after they left town at summers end. I saw ETD in August. Tyosh has explained the time-line with regards to that movie (thanks, by the way).

Jenna, her brother and dad rented an apartment on the 2nd floor of my parents house in Monmouth Beach, NJ for the summer. I babysat for Jenna and Nicolas in the summer of 1973 as well. Jenna was 7 at that time. My younger brother who was 10 also went to see Enter the Dragon with Tom, Jenna and Nicolas as well as a bunch of other kids from the shore.

She was seven in the summer of 1973?
Her DoB is September 22, 1967. That means she turned 7 on September 22, 1974.
Unless you have an unusual definition of "summer of 1973", I don't see how she could have been 7.

I find it amusing how all these math experts / professional arguers are worrying about what essentially consists of a rounding error, when the original recollection was from 33 years before? I can see a 6 year old being mistaken for 5, or 7, and I can also see her exact age at the time being mis-remembered after 3+ decades. None of this is of any probative value as far as the story goes anyway.
