In October 1978 Baltimore Bob was 28.5 years old.
My #1 for August 7th is
Carl 'Alfalfa' Switzer (Would have been 83 in 2010) 1927 - Died age 31
Born 7 August 1927 - Paris, Illinois, USA.
Date of death 21 January 1959 - Mission Hills, CA, USA. (homicide)
    Birth name: Carl Dean Switzer
Trade mark: Off-key singing of popular (usually Bing Crosby) songs.
Artificially straightened cowlick. / Was Alfalfa in the 'Our Gang' comedies.
Died by gunshot wound by an acquaintance in an argument over
$50 which S2000witzer felt the acquaintance owed him.
The acquaintance pleaded self-defense, and the judge ruled the death 'justifiable homicide.
[Source: Information is taken from 'The Hollywood Death Book', James Robert Parish, 1992]
Alfalfa is buried at Hollywood memorial park (now Hollywood forever)
6000 Santa Monica Blvd. Los Angeles.
Numerous brushes with the law, two broken marriages, and grade-z film work
(when he could get it) all led up to his sudden, violent death in 1959, at age 31.
A similar fate befell his brother, actor Harold Switzer, who, nine years later,
killed his girlfriend and then, a few hours after that, himself.
His best friend in the Our Gang cast was Tommy Bond, who played his on-screen nemesis Butch.
Was a 'problem child' during his tenure in Our Gang.
Alfalfa was known for staging pranks on both the crew and his fellow child actors
(including his on-screen girlfriend Darla Hood, who in real life was apprehensive of Alfalfa).
1st movie role at age 8 in Beginner's Luck (1935) as Alfalfa & 1st time as Alfalfa.
Last movie role at age 31 in The Defiant Ones (1958) (as Carl Switzer) as Angus.

He was a highly touted player out of high school.
He was often considered the best recruit out of Ohio and solidified that in the

three touchdowns and led the East team to a 27-16 victory under coach Ted Ginn, Sr.
      2009: NFL Draft:
    1. Philadelphia: Chris Wells, RB, Ohio State, Junior
Wells has top-10 talent, but there are durability issues.
All those fourth-and-1's that Andy Reid's Eagles came up short on last season?
Wells gets those first downs. With two first-round picks(# 28), the Eagles have the luxury
of taking a running back - not particularly a position of need with this selection.
Baltimore Bob added Chris on Wednesday February 4th 2009.
