I had never heard of Vanity until she died. I have seen
52 Pick-Up
, in which she has a supporting role, but she didn't register. I'll have to see if I can find her music.

Her other well known movies were "The Last Dragon" and "Action Jackson".
Her best known songs were "Nasty Girl", "Pretty Mess", "Mechanical Emotion" and "Under the Influence".

I knew her from that and Action Jackson and Purple Rain, of course. Also from an episode of HIghlander that got edited into a D2VHS movie. Sad that she died after turning her life around.

She wasn't in PURPLE RAIN, that was Apollonia. The role was meant for Denise but she left Prince's camp before filming began for a lucrative Motown deal.
