I thought he was wonderful for doing this but a customer told me that his place is just a glorified puppymill. 😞
    Anyone know anything about this?

I had forgotten I posted this question years ago, found it in my posting history.
After checking out the site Zemira was kind enough to post, yelp and various other reviews of his 'Dog Rescue.' I feel sickened, near tears.
I hate to find out this information out about a 'childhood hero.' No further proof what I already knew. People are who they are and 'heros' can certainly have clay feet.
        Excerpts from reviews:
The dogs were all super dirtythe kind of dirty that leaves the palm of your hand ORANGE with filth from one stroke down the dog's back. Most of them had some facial cuts. Some of them had weepy, infected-looking eyes. All of them looked in need of some serious TLC. I can't stress enough how filthy these dogs wereour clothes, hands, and arms were coated in a greasy, smelly film from the first meeting with the first dog.
Can you say HOARDER! I was able to have a very rare and brief moment in their house.Oh the urine smell! The carpet was filthy and clutter everywere. There were about 20 dogs in the house trying desperately to get out the front door.
Do your research people, if you really want to help an animal, go to your local shelter or a reputable rescue group. Any rescue that is legit, won't hide the dogs from you and only bring one out at a time. They wouldn't be afraid of you seeing the living conditions of the dogs. But Tracy and Burt are"red flag"
Gentle Giants charges 900+ for the dogs!? This is called a sale not a reasonable adoption fee. And no excuse justifies this charge. Tracy and Burt even used this money to pay for a 500,000 pool! Hello? Why do you think they only take cash??
I have turned them into the local animal control agency, and that agency even said this was not the first complaint. This place is disgusting and needs to be shut down!!!!!!
And, oh, this one! The 'trainer' told the adopter to
'"Just hit the dog w/a paper towel roll."
Someone needs to do something more to this woman w/a paper towel roll than just hit her. I'm sorry but my blood is boiling.
I recently adopted a dog from GGR, and was told she was 4 months old, and in good health. I found out today she is at least 1 yr old, and half the size she is suppose to be, has many medical problems and is scared of her own shadow. Wouldn't that be a breach of contract on their part? Maybe I could get some of my money back to help pay vet bills.. called Tracy who just told me to hit her with a paper towel roll. Also my vet said thay should have given me vaccine records. So I than started to get suspicious at that point, and started looking around. Being that this is my first dog, I wouldn't be able to notice the age differance, but you think their expert vet would have noticed!! I just feel like me and my family got robbed!
I truly don't know what to say.

If his place is like this, that's appalling. Has it been reported to the Humane Society or a similar organization? You'd think they'd investigate it.
From the videos I've seen, the dogs look clean and well-cared for, but maybe that's only a few of them. I honestly don't know.
If the stories these people have told are true, I hope they reported their findings to the proper authorities.
