What is Pink Floyd's most OVERRATED album?

"I still say The Wall is their most overrated album simply because you cannot listen to every song individually as you can with DSOTM, WYWH and even Animals."
That's because "The Wall" wasn't written to have stand-alone songs. It was written to be one continous interlocking story with every song connected to the next one. -

"So were the previous albums. And they're all listenable as one complete piece and as individual songs."
And so is The Wall. What's the problem here? You trying to tell me you can't listen to Mother, Nobody Home, Comfortably Numb, Hey You, Vera, Run Like Hell, etc.etc.etc..etc.etc. by themselves? If you say no then you just have a personal grudge against The Wall. Every song is great on that goddamned album, together or separate. -

Honestly, I love all the music made by Pink Floyd. The only thing that would even disconcern me from their music is the fact that many of the younger pot heads and skaters listen to them just because they think it's cool, not because they like the music.
Johnny- 'Reed you suck. You beyond suck.'
Ben- 'You fantasti-suck.'

My little brother is an exception. He just turned 17 and loves every Floyd album and every Floyd song. And I'm talking like Obscured By Clouds and Atom Heart Mother. All of them. And he found them on his own. I never even pushed him in that direction. Pretty cool for someone that young if you ask me.

WISH YOU WERE HERE by far! Please dont kill me I like the album but I think it's the most overhyped album (and song). I just don't understand what the deal is. Personally The Wall is my favourite album but I think Dark Side of the Moon is their best.

I am also an exception. I started listening to Pink Floyd when I was 16, and when I was 17, I got every album they did. This includes the Syd Barrett, Waters, and Gilmour stuff. I'm 21 now, and I still love the Floyd.

People seem to think "overrated" means it's bad or of lesser quality. That's not the case. I still like the Wall very much but I don't think it's thier best work and certainly not as good as people tend to think. And judging that the majority of the responses here are similar to mine I think it's a pretty accurate assesment.

The reason the Wall is so loved is that, aside from a number of great songs, it tends to strikes an emotional cord with most people. Musically the Wall is not the best at times, but I cannot call it over-rated as when the Wall does have it's highes, it is magnificant (Hey You, Run Like Hell).
The most over-rated Floyd album for me would be Division Bell or Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
