what if human Elena is still torn between the brothers?
I know that she had feelings for Damon while she was human and those feelings got intensified when she turned vampire BUT what if when she comes back she is still torn between brother esp now that one of them is human and this is what Elena apparently "wants"- human hubby and kids after all this show is
"A teenage girl, from Mystic Fall, is torn between two vampire brothers, who are quite the opposite."
I liked that she choose Damon and then the writers stuck with that story. She didnt go back to Stefan but what if they play that angle again? If that happens I would like for Stefan to reject her since she rejected him once.

Elena is not torn between the brothers any longer. Elena's love is not dependent on what species the brother's are/were nor what species she is.
Elena loved vampire Stefan when she was a human. Elena also fell in love with vampire Damon when she was human and fell out of love with Stefan when she was human
Elena still loved Damon when she became a vampire, she still loved him without her memories and was still in love with him when she took the cure and became human again. Elena would still be in love with Damon if he turned human because she loves Damon period.
We all know Damon loves Elena either way.

Not denying how much Elena loves Damon whatsoever, but she most definitely did not fall out of love with Stefan before she turned. In fact, she chose him, above and beyond her feelings for Damon at the time. "Best choice I ever made.." -at Pastor Young's farm, remember?

I do remember because that was the epitome of Stefan and Elena's relationship- denial.
An emotion-less Elena (who was meant to be truth teller Elena according to JP) asked Damon if he preferred her like this or as the scared little girl who could not admit to what she really wanted.
Now, I'm not saying those feelings for Stefan weren't real but they were fading throughout S3 and they never really recovered to the heights of the earlier seasons because she fell in love with someone else. The fact that Elena HAD to make a choice at all shows that the feelings she had for Damon were at least equal to those that she felt for Stefan but her loyalty and history with Stefan won out in that moment.

As a human Elena was always concerned with how other people would view her choices. When Caroline tried to get Elena to admit her feelings for Damon in 3x04 she says "I can't Caroline. If I admit it, if I even thought it for just a second, what does that say about me?" Also when Elena and Damon were dancing at the frat party in 4x04 she was having fun for the first time since becoming a vampire and what stopped her? When she looked over and saw Bonnie judging the beep out of her. She denied her feelings for Damon to her friends, family and to herself bc she didn't want to love him. He was the "bad" choice, the "wrong" choice. In her mind Stefan was the choice she was supposed to make. Vampirism finally gave her the freedom to stop being that scared little girl and go after what she really wanted. -

Exactly this!! She did love Stefan, I truly believe that, especially in Season 1- but she ultimately realised that he wasn't the true love of her life. Damon was/is.
For me, it wouldn't be believable if Stelena were to reunite now. It might happen to shock us, but I would find it redundant, since Damon and Elena have been devoted to each other to Hell and back for four years, through sire bond, through lack of humanity, through death, through the Katherine possession of Elena, through the cure, through memory wiping, through EVERYTHING they have loved each other. Plus, Stefan genuinely seems to be in love with Caroline- she certainly is with him. -

This are the exact reasons I dont like her. She was always concerned about presenting her "good" image. It is not just about her feelings for the men in her life. I cannot quote examples but this is the general vibe i get from her. SHe is not her true self most of the times. Just rubs me in the wrong way.

Well I feel like most 17-18 year old girls are concerned with presenting a "good" image. It's not until we do a little more growing up that (hopefully) we realize that we don't have to be this person people want or expect us to be.

I think I saw a tweet from one of the producers saying that the show ends with Delena bc they were together when the show got cancelled. So maybe season 10 could have ended differently.
IMHO taking Stefan (and Katherine) complexly out of the equation was a big mistake rating-wise.

If they plan to end the show with Elena getting together with one of the brothers, then it has to be Damon. Not trying to start a ship war here, I know people are very sensible about this subject, but it wouldn't make sense for her to wake up and change brothers again.
Which would be worse - to live as a monster, or to die as a good man?
