I'm sure this idea has created threads out the ass, but seriously. If he did that would be awesome. I think Episode VIII has already had a director for awhile, but if he were to take over for Episode IX it would really turn his career around. I think the man needs some redemption. He's a great storyteller and I think Star Wars is really where he belongs. It's just unfortunate that Disney/Marvel threw him in a funk.
Come back and conquer Disney with a Star Wars finale that puts the rest of the new trilogy to shame! Do it! -

Nah. His writing style wouldn't work for Star Wars. Characters ALWAYS having a witty well thought out smarmy comeback, everyone is a smart ass, and Star Wars characters can't make pop culture references.

Overlooking your exaggerations regarding Whedon's writing style, you seem to be confusing directing a movie with writing a movie.

His directing isn't that profound. It seems only slightly above average
