As a matter of fact, I was a singer and dancer for him in Branson for two years. I sang two duets with him in the regular seasons, then was one of two male lead singers in the Christmas seasons. He is extremely nice and fun to work with. Almost every time before the curtain would raise he would play a practical joke or try to make us laugh. Another thing that amazed me was that he drove himself to the theatre everyday.
He never tried to come across above us or that he was better in any way. During our regular seasons Glen Campbell was a part of our shows. He was also a wonderful and regular guy. I got to know him pretty well, sometimes I would go in his dressing room and share my lunch. They are both from such a gracious era. I treasure those days.

I've never met him myself, but my mom & aunt had in the '70's and they RAVED at what a classy, warm individual he was. He really is a part of a (sadly) dying breed. He actually has talent (remember when you needed that to be successful)? is not ridden by any kind of scandel, and has an amazing voice! What a shame he doesn't still perform today.

I met Andy Williams about 20 years ago at a live performance he gave at the Melody Tent on Cape Cod in Hyannis, Massachusetts. I had an aisle seat and when he was walking out after the performance, we were able to lock eyes and smile and shake hands. I'd like to get out to Branson to see him in his Christmas show, maybe I'll go this year. He's doing a Variety show in September, too.

I never actually met him, but once I was only about 10 feet away from him.
The one thing that really jumped out about him is that this guy has a humongous head. He's got one of the biggest melons I've ever seen.

Yeah, as a matter of fact. Back when I waited tables, he came in regularly and was a very nice, down-to-earth guy. Still very humble.

I have met Andy Williams, he was very friendly. Sadly, things do not look good with regard to his health and I would like to send out my best wishes to him and his family.

Wow. Cameron mentions Branson in Modern Family tonight, then I just heard that Andy Williams died today. I met him in 1996. Yes, in Branson. At a restaurant near his theater after a show. I had no idea who he was when he was talking to us until it was too late. He's kind of before my time.
Is it okay if I do it for mom and not you? 'Cause I really like mom.

Those are very nice accounts of wonderful fans meeting the great and very polite Andy Williams. I hadn't the opportunity to have met him myself, but have also heard other great stories by those who had the good fortune to meet him.
It's often been reported how Andy helped to launch the singing careers of many young recording artists, by introducing them and their fine talents upon his many stage and television programs.
Also, it's been very noteworthy how Andy made great friends across the aisle with many great patriotic Americans such as Ethel and Robert Kennedy, and how he helped to support the lovely Ethel in her time of need.
Such a wonderful legacy of soft and mellow music, goodwill to fans and the famous alike, and very cheerful and personable to everyone whose paths he may have crossed along the way through his outstanding and magnificent career and charitable contributions.
One truly talented gentleman, who uses his talents to help others, and never to hurt anybody less fortunate than Andy.
