"Andy Williams accuses Barack Obama of following Marxist theory"
Andy Williams, the veteran pop singer, has accused Barack Obama of "following Marxist theory" and "wanting the country to fail".
Williams, a lifelong Republican whose hits include Moon River and Music To Watch Girls By, told the Radio Times he thought Mr Obama wanted to turn the US into a "socialist country".

Regrets that you didn't hold on long enough to watch our President Obama be triumphantly and democratically elected to a second term, with a towering electoral vote margin.
Say hello to all of your bigoted, right-wingnut friends, down there in hell. -

theb68re's nothing democratic about a bunch of dumbasses with no working thought process voting in a communist bot once already and probably again in November. People across the country have just lost their damn minds. They are saps, poor delusional saps. They think zero about what or who they are voting for. Bush, Romney, Obama, they are the same thing with the same agenda, New World Order. Globalist regimes that keep recycling the same commie garbage.

You rot in hell, SunRock17. You're such a loser, going around message boards writing imbecilic rants against people you know nothing about. All you know is how to make stupid political arguments and believe "long-standing observations" are facts. Try knowing something about the person before you write inane ramblings about them, but that you will never bother to do because you are so stupid.

I would like to say, thank you, for not attacking me. I understand and respect your opinion. I've read and watched and heard Obama, I didn't like him from the start in 2007, I feel he and McCain were terrible choices. I am a registered Republican, but I do not vote for people blindly, I do not support Romney and didn't support McCain, I'm a Ron Paul and Gary Johnson kind of guy, more of a Libertarian. I don't feel that Obama is 100 percent wrong, I've tried to reason with his policies, but I just can't get in line with his administration. I've thought it over and over, and I'm just not liberal. I am very anti war, though, and at times I have a liberal idea or two, but for the most part, I disagree with most liberal policies, but I also can disagree with neocon policies. I just happen to agree with Andy Williams for the most part on what he said about Obama

No, it wasn't that bad. Let's hear it from Andy himself:
(from 4:09)
"Well, that's taken out of context, a lot of it. It was an interview that I made to a reporter by phone in London, and it just got blown out of proportion. I think Obama is the most charismatic politician that we've seen since John F. Kennedy. I was a great friend of Robert Kennedy, voted for many Democratic presidents, I have nothing absolutely against a Liberal Democrat. I just think sometimes, like a lot of Americans, that he might be guiding us in the wrong direction. But that's just from a singer, it really doesn't mean much."
I guess even Andy in old age could get a little cranky sometimes, but by all accounts that was a rare thing for what was a very gentle, generous man.

Thanks! Didn't think so either.
Though it is true that he was a Republican at heart (you know, rural family values), he was far from a religious right-wing 'tea bagger'. He campaigned for his friend Robert Kennedy, and sang at his funeral after he was shot, he named his son Bobby after him, campaigned for George McGovern (i.e. against Nixon), and remained friends with Robert's widow Ethel till his death.
He also believed "America The Beautiful" would make a more fitting national anthem than "Th1ebce Star-Spangled Banner" - too much bloodshed and bombs, and wrote a letter to Nixon to grant John Lennon US citizenship.
I don't think you would call this man a reactionary when you hear him sing this moving song about Abraham Lincoln, JFK, Martin Luther King and finally, his friend Bobby:

I have loved Andy Williams since I was a little girl. I have always thought that he was fine family loving man. He sure was a talent. He is definitely missed.
Merry Christmas,
Katie
