The writers don't care about continuity, Alaric and Kol somehow got haircuts on The Other Side.
For sure but this just seems lazy given how easy it is to fix. But maybe that's expecting too much from them.

I agree. The coloring looked just like when Damon was remembering his first meeting with Elena. You can tell with the wording Tyler used "remember what you want. remember who you want" using no names. Also, Tyler wouldn't have egged Damon on like that.
and we know Trevino was filming two weeks ago -

I'm really glad you wrote this. I was coming on here to rage about them killing off Tyler (why couldn't it have been Matt!) in such a throw-away way, but it not being real or somehow fixable makes more sense, especially with this show
I'd like to hope that if they were really killing Tyler, they would at least give Trevino the decency of an episode arc

While I don't think Tyler is dead. I also don't think Damon would dream about Tyler. Did Damon rip Tyler's heart out?,or only bite him? If Damon only bit him,then Tyler is alive. Werewolves can only die if you chop off their heads, or trip out their hearts.
As for everyone being mad at Damon for killing Tyler, and killing Tyler representing Damon being past the point of no return is a fail for 2 reasons.- Damon had tried (and failed) to kill Tyler on numerous occasions while his humanity was turned on.
2.Damon had done much worst. (Re: killed Elena's brother,killed pregnant lady)

Hybrids can only be killed by cutting off their heads or ripping out their hearts, werewolves are mortal with advanced healing so can die any way a human can die, other than a slow death that would give their bodies time to heal. Damon draining Tyler of blood would kill Tyler.

Then why did Damon have such a hard time killing Mason. He had to rip Mason's heart out. Tyler could die by Damon draining him, but he would not die right away. If someone get to Tyler in time he could be saved.
