Hi, I'm another admirer here
does anyone know how to get one's hands on some of Stuart Wilson's best movies such as Running Blind? It's so highly acclaimed but so little-known (and long ago) even amazon.com doesn't have it
Was recentl2000y stunned when I caught the first five min (by far the most interesting hehe) of Vertical Limit (2000) recently on TV to see how youthful Stuart Wilson actually still looks nowadays He's been fooling us all with those beards in Mask of Zorro and Luzhin Defence!!

Unfortunately RUNNING BLIND is not available on VHS. Some Beta ones were knocking around in the '80's, but none have been issued since then.
The BBC archives don't even seem to remember their production, let alone have a copy. Write to BBC Scotland in Glasgow to demand a release. It may get them thinking. It's a wonderful cold-war adventure beautifully filmed on location in Iceland. His Icelandic co-star is one of the prettiest leading ladies he's ever worked with.
A great deal of Stuart's 1970's stuff, especially the TV series episodes aren't available but he can be seen on a recently issued THE PROFESSIONALS video compilation. He's in the episode called SLUSH FUND as a South African hitman. Check out his performances (which ARE available) in ANNA KARENINA (1977) and DEATH & THE MAIDEN, THE HIGHEST HONOUR, ROMANCE ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, and NO ESCAPE.
His roles thesedays are short (like the 4 minutes in VERTICAL LIMIt!) and unnoticed age-gap roles, which he does so well, like LUZHIN, and SLOW BURN. MASK OF ZORRO really showed his versatility playing young and older characters, as well as his athleticism, in energetic swordfighting.
