I meant it in the context that a lot of people may have not seen him as Klytus in the Flash Gordon movie. Most people I know always remember him either because of Jason King or the Dr. Who episodes he was in.

Unfortunately, Peter was the George Michael of his - rather more judgemental- day, and shortly after 1,000,000 Australian women voted him the man they would/ would have liked to lose thier virginity to (!) he was picked up by police in a Gents' toilet with another man in a compromising situation.
George Michael and Hugh Grant have survived as much, and convicted paedophile Pete Townshend of The Who an abominable lot worse, but it did mean sporadic bit parts for the rest of the career for the greatest TV actor of the 1960s/1970s. -

Townshend was cleared of his charges because he wasn't guilty. He reported the child pornography sites to the authorities..who lost information of this until quite late on. He runs a Child protection charity, so I believe. He was also sexually abused as a Child (which is a theme used in 'Tommy').

Pete Townshend was not convicted of pediophila. He was officially "cautioned" by British police as part of Operation Ore, a major investigation on child pornography conducted in 20022003 after which Townshend was placed on the sex offenders register for five years in 2003.

Yes he did. Each time there is a discussion of the portrayal of Sydney Carton, I have not heard anyone mention Peter's portrayal. I was searching the site for any information concerning the date of serial. I noticed your statement and thought: there is someone else who remembers his part. I know that his performance is the best so far! brw64
