I remember thinking way back when watching the first episode of Sex and the City , "if that girl is meant to be English, why does she sound exactly like an Australian?".
Virtually every syllable out of her mouth sounded Aussie. And I was thinking this before I even knew Sarah Wynter's nationality. I've seen some dreadful attempted accents on US TV in my time, but this has to be in the top 5. -

That's funny because I wasn't aware of her until she was on 24 doing an American accent and I thought she was American. I don't remeber her in SATC but I know what you mean about accents on USTV sometimes. (I know this message is nearly a year late but hey!)

This! Just started watching the pilot and the girl who is supposed to be from London sounds nothing like it. I thought she sounded Australian, we can always tell one of our own apart from a British, they sound nothing alike!
