Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Kathleen York

    atleswoolf — 20 years ago(March 23, 2006 10:43 AM)

Kathleen York first came to my attention in the Disney Channel made-for-TV movie Northern Lights, where she plays the sweet but goofy and talentless singer Daphne. She performs a hilariously dreadful version of "Fever," in which she adlibs the line, "Gimme some Bufferin" Diane Keaton's reaction shot to this is a classic. I remember thinking, "Whoever that actress is, she's probably a stunning singer, because it takes immense talent to sing that badly on purpose." It's so nice to see her work rewarded with an Oscar nomination for CrashI agree with everyone else that she ought to have won.
