I think the writing was on the wall with 'that' photo. On the news today it has been referred to as a picture of William with his arm round an 18 year old student but he's clearly groping her tits!!
I think Wills is going to have to wait a while to find someone as nice and as suitable as Kate -

I knew they wouldn't get married. They are both too young, also she seemed to act too determinedly that she was going to be the next Queen - not gonna happy darling.
Put bluntly, its a clash of class - I don't care what anyone says, - the next King of England, will only marry an aristocratic woman or someone of royal lineage.
Yeah snobbery still rules the roost here in UK - I don't agree with this system, but really the writing was on t111che wall - William would not have married Kate, never! -

It wasn't "gossip crap". They did break up for a short time. That was true. Kate was offered millions of dollars for a memoir and interviews. She declined to do so. Very smart girl to decline such a tempting offer.
I am sure that's what attracted to William to her. That she wouldn't sell him out for money & fame. They were very young when they started dating. It makes sense that they took a break to be free awhile and explore life being young.
I really do believe they'll make it. Mainly because they did have a separation before and came back together.
