it makes me happy to see iranian women in movies or on tv. i'm not sure why. i guess i'm just proud to be iranian, or something. but with people like shohreh aghdashloo out there, who i've loved from her plays in iran, it just makes me smile.

They do teach Spanish in American schools.
The problem is that the instructors are not terribly good at teaching it to people who have spoken only English their entire lives.
Hell, I lived in a border town (San Diego), and did not learn much Spanish beyond the curses and a few minor phrases.
I learned more Japanese when I lived on an American base in Japan than I did learning Spanish right next to Mexico. -

well i'm proud to be from a country that although run by a bunch of power hungry lunatics that manipulate the people for their dirty work (wait that sounds a lot like the American government as well), is one of the few nations in the world who has the balls to stand up to the bullying that the wonderful US of A has been doing for the past half a century.
Iran, minus its government, is a beautiful country with rich culture, breath taking nature, melodic poetry, a beautiful language, picturesque architecture, a colorful heritage, a proud and powerful history, hospitable and genuine kind hearted people, GOOD FOOD, and proud citizens who fight for it with their souls. -

Here, here. I'm half iranian too, so i feel the need to defend it against people around me in america (despite the fact that it does have a bad government) My other half is white though, so no, i dont look spanish at all. I can't speak even a little iranian though (dunno why my dad never taught me.) It feels weird that immediately after seeing her name, it felt so similar to mine. My first name is Sarah, and take the first "h" out of Shahi and add 2 letters within the name and thats my name. And now i found out shes half iranian. Just thought that was bizzare. Plus, eh, i like girls, which i'm pretty sure she doesnt in real life (plus would she? she has an iranian dad on one side, which means heck no to being gay, and spanish on the other, very catholic, but she doesn't really give off the gay-vibe, anyways) but her character on the l word is

Dude, beauty is something that you can base on background.i.e some people think hispanic people are hot and some people think chinese people are hot.it doesnt matter where they grow up,the look of that country or region is what makes them Hot!in this case the mix of iranian and hispanic is what makes her VERY HOT!
