Kate did that Divergent film- that was sci-fi.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind- weird, quirky sci-fi, definitely risk-taking.
She was in Contagion, which is also a form of sci-fi.
Kate has proven she can do many roles although I can't really think of any action hero she has portrayed- whereas Emily has done so. -

My only issue with divergent is that it's a modern science fiction movie based on a mainstream tween best seller that was more than likely ripped from various genres. Plus Shelby Woodpecker thinks she's this omnipotent force for political change getting arrested at coal mines or whatever thinking she's a young George Clooney which isn't possible because where's her role on Roseanne?

Titanic
Jude
Heavenly Creatures
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Little Children
The Reader
Revolutionary Road
The more curvier she gets!
But someone should replace the IMDB home page picture, seriously.
