Especially the dead ones.
Why bother and what moron wishes dead celebs happy b. day?
Do you do that for dead family members and friends?
Like send out cards to survivors?

One of the funniest things I saw like that was on Facebook where a friend commented (so it came up on my newsfeed) on a Kat Von D post about Lemmy dying and she was like "I am so sorry for your loss"
Firstly, on the death of Lemmy, is Kat Von D the first person you would think of as just having lost someone and then obviously the other thing being did she really think Kat Von D cares or will read her condolences?! 
That was one of the moments where I can distinctly remember losing faith in the world
