I just heard on the radio that it was confirmed she'd died. They didn't say how but if this is true how horrible.
I will truly miss your wonderfully talented voice. -

On Twitter, there was mass confusion for at least an hour. I was hoping it was one of those fake rumors. But then CNN and other official media confirmed.
The sad thing is, yesterday was her daughter's birthday. Plus she tweeted less than 24 hours ago.
So sad.
Teena Marie was part of the soundtrack of my growing up years. I roller skated to so many of her songs.
RIP Lady T
No two persons ever watch the same movie. -

Teena Marie (March 5, 1956 - December 26, 2010) was an American Grammy Award-nominated singersongwriterproducer. Marie, nicknamed Lady Tee, (sometimes spelled Lady T), was a protege of late funk legend Rick James, and was notable as one of the few successful white performers of R&B. She played rhythm guitar, keyboards and congas. She also wrote, produced, sang and arranged virtually all of her songs since her 1980 release Irons in the Fire. She said this was her favorite album. She had a daughter named Alia Rose who, as of 2009, sings under the name Rose Le Beau.[1][2][3] Marie died Sunday, December 26, 2010, as announced by her manager, Mike Gardner.[4]

I am shocked. I did not follow her for many years but someone mentioned it earlier and I though it was just a sick joke. I will always think of her singing "Lovergirl". What a tragedy. So young. RIP and her poor daughter.
Remember us, for we too have lived, loved and laughed -

Though I haven't heard any of her recent music, I enjoyed her work in the '80s very much. I was in college then, so she was part of my youth and my nights out with friends.
54 is far too young to die. "Natural causes" doesn't sound right. -
