Wonderful news indeed! Jesus, I was too busy watching football last evening and had no idea. We've been hoping for this project to come to fruition for a while now.

When I came to the board, I first thought it was an old thread, but then I realized a poster just started it. I initially felt Saoirse had a chance to work with a director whose films were twice nominated (one win) for a foreign film Oscar, and this possibility had made me very enthused about the project. I've seen three of Bier's films and was looking forward to Saoirse working with her, but now that a new director will take the reins, I'm still happy about it partly because this is another film we'll perhaps have for 2017 or 2018.

Yeah Susane Bier would have been much better, but researching, I found out Rourke is a pretty acomplished theater director, she is the artstic director of a famous london theater, has done many plays and was even nominated for an oliver award. That gives me a little bit of confidence.

I think Ronan approached Rourke about directing after Bier departed. Anyway it doesn't matter what tier the director is on as long as it's well made. Rourke is well respected and has worked with well accomplished actors!

It's encouraging that the newly named director is very talented. I'm happy the project is a go now. She clearly has been looking forward to playing the character. In addition, I've a lot of confidence in the production company due to the fine work they've done through the years.

Good to see her getting another big role that could lead to another Oscar nom. I said earlier on here that she had the face for regal roles. She is probably one of the most in-demand actresses in her age group for serious dramas.
