Oh,c'moneven when this movie came out, Tatum still wasn't a big startrue stardom wouldn't come for him for another couple of years-both he and Dewan were just blessed to have met each other just before their careers really started taking off, 5b4and they've been together almost a decadein other words, she was with him BEFORE long before he was big,and they were both still unknowns. And there no guarantee that STEP UP would be successful, since other dance films were coming out around that time. Basically, the people that knew you BEFORE your fame,are the ones you stick with, because they know and like the real you, and not because of your fame.
