he is self-important and apparently holds himself above the insignificant plebs that flock to his movies.
the problem with this is that he is so utterly average and mediocre and insipid that he fits right in with the 'common people'. he stands out in hollywood because he looks more like the fratty douchebag next door as opposed to the handsome movie star. he is just an all-around unimpressive guy.
i honestly don't see the talent, the looks, or the personality that is worthy of the heaps of critical praise that goes his way. obviously he has friends in high places and has a bank account much larger most of ours will ever be. however, that doesn't take away from his overall suckery.
this dude is awful. same goes for seth rogen and all the apatow crew - it has nothing to do with 'jealousy' or 'envy' or any such thing. frankly, i think most guys are envious of actors like leonardo di caprio (talented, wealthy, handsome, playboy) and not the smug, overweight, mediocre douchebags that they look at and think to themselves: "that could be me" as opposed to looking at brad pitt and thinking to themselves: "i wish that was me".

I have watched both his performances on TGNS and I have to disagree with your commentary. He is self-absorbed, self-congratulatory, not half as amusing as he thinks he is, and quite plainly bathing in the glow of the movies' success he has appeared in and yet has not contributed enough to justify his ego trip. Personally, if her had been cut entirely from the "wolf of Wall Street" I believe the movie would have been an ideal length, more enjoyable, and not suffered at all for his absence.

I don't like the guy either, but didn't he write the story for the Jump Street reboots? I think he's also the executive producer on both films.
He's not Marlon Brando, but he's a pretty decent actor. I think his self-congratulatory persona comes from him wanting to be respected as a "serious actor", rather than be known as the funny fat-kid from Superbad. -

I will never, ever, get the reasoning below this kind of answer. So what if it's freedom of speech? Asking what's with you guys that go off on a rant about someone you don't know is also freedom of speech so WHAT'S YOUR FREAKING POINT?
Oh, I see it's only freedom of speech when you agree with the speech. LOL. -

That's the whole point thoughit wasn't because he "asked"(which was a rhetorical question in the first place & stated purely looking to get a reaction), it was because he called him pathetic because of it..& then attacked anyone who defended the OP's freedom of speech
EDIT: Just realized your post was from like 6 months ago, lol. At least you got an answer to YOUR question
Unless this lady works for the circusshe didn't shoot herself -

schadenfreude-HA, I agree with you on every point.
Jonah Hill is a jackass and a talentless jerk. People come on these boards and say that "he's a nice guy" and I don't believe that for one minute. He's an arrogant douchebag and is the last person on Earth deserving of an Oscar.
But for some reason, they keep casting him in crap like Shia Lebeouf.
Gee, I wonder why?
