No, but I wish they had.
Mr. Roboto
is one of the best 80s songs, hands down. I was hoping for Freestyle's
Don't Stop the Rock
and didn't get that either. Cucked.
They did play Stevie B, though, so the experience was still somewhat authentic.
Hark! Harold the angel sings. -

I'm at my parents' ranch for the night waiting on my overly active mother to finish watering the plants, practicing her music for tomorrow, and studying her Sunday school lesson before we can watch movies.
Feeling a little ignored and bored at the moment!
She'll then get upset at not spending any time together when I crash at 10 PM. Lol -

— 4 years ago(April 25, 2021 01:00 AM)I accompanied 3 Catholic masses total during high school, organ and keyboard … and in junior high (6th grade) some on piano where I used to live. Then, I went to college and was a music major. I still sang in their church (chapel) choir. The piano at church is quite indispensable. I also like a good guitar or so to go with it. I had this great piano teacher and her sister also teaching music and when I did choir with them … and I saw my piano teacher play on Sunday night like with guitars and tambourine maybe, quite the best I've encountered for church music, and it was traditional music so very pretty and not like progressive pop that teens and young adults do. This was back in maybe 1998 or 1997. It was at the oldest church parish in the US, in the oldest continuing city in the US. I lived there grades 4, 5, and 6.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Yea, I had to take things off my schedule to focus on a professional career, and I didn't play violin at church. I wanted to play violin since I was 6 but started at 18. I started piano at age 9, 4th grade. I wanted to sing since I was 5 and we had kids songs when I was little and Barney … and I got to sing in church/school choir since age 8. I stayed when we moved except 2 years when they didn't have it, and I got into musical theater mostly on my own. We watched musical theater in music class in 6th grade, but it was rather pleasant, though we didn't get to watch Andrew Lloyd Webber, as
Cats
and
The Phantom of the Opera
weren't out, yet, anyway. I was interested in classical, and I feel I "missed the boat" but saved by church music.
I hope your mom has a good time tomorrow! I have a friend whose mom is an avid choir member in the oldest church, which I mentioned. Actually, the building was burned once, though.
That's cool you're on a ranch, a bit fancier than my family has out in the country or something, farming family ancestrally. My dad was on a farm, too, though, he says.
Did you ever play the violin? or your favorite instrument/s?

No, I've never been musically inclined at all! Played the xylophone as a kid (because that's what all the cool kids do
), but even then I sucked at it. Taught myself a few things on the piano, some modern, some classical, but suck at that, too. Lol -

— 4 years ago(April 25, 2021 01:58 AM)I played something like a xylophone in band 1 year of high school and 1/2 year of college. It's called a glockenspiel or bells or "glox." I played at football games but only home ones and it was my senior year at a new high school.
Yea, in piano, I liked learning a little blues from my dad and in the lesson books. I wanted to teach myself, but my parents put me in lessons. I had quit gymnastics and was in art for 1/2 year.
I remember getting a bunch of classical CDs from my parents, at least ruined in Hurricane Katrina if not lost before.
I've also done musical theater and some pop.
I have trouble not hitting other strings still but need more practice. I might have it unfair as I might have damaged the nerves in my arms hitting my desk and the computer keyboard when mad.
I also like to sing, and liking to sing my whole life it's good for your voice.
