Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Christine Chubbuck

Granted she wasn't beautiful or anything but she was not all that bad looking. I know what it can be like to have trouble getting a date or being too shy to flirt and I think she had some similar problems as me.
But if I based who I dated on looks alone I would have gone out with her at least once.

I don't think "getting" a date was Christine's problem, I think it was having a guy interested in a second date or beyond. I'm no expert, but from what I have read and heard, Chris had a very dry wit and would constantly put herself and others down. I'm sure she did it in jest, but three hours of that and a guy is going to be saying to himself "Geez, is she depressed or pathetic or what?". She certainly needed some counseling and probably medication.

Guys, back then, suicide prevention was, relatively, in its infancy. And it's often congenital. They usually didn't know that back then.
